National examinations for all H1 subjects will be taken at the end of JC2. The exceptions are H1 Project Work (PW) and H1 Mother Tongue Language (MTL), which will be taken in JC1.
Computation of University Admission Score (UAS)
From 2026, the maximum UAS a student can achieve for admissions to university is 70 points. A higher score (out of 70) would place a student in a better position for admissions to university.
The fourth content-based subject (H1 or H2) and H1 Mother Tongue will be included in the computation of the UAS only if it improves the UAS.
Students who offer four H2 content subjects do not have a H1 content subject. In this case, the student’s weakest H2 subject will be computed as a H1 content subject (10 points).
Project Work (PW) as a Pass/Fail subject will be removed from the computation of the UAS.

Computation of UAS
-
Without H1 content-based/fourth H2 or H1 MTL
A student’s UAS is calculated by adding together the points the student has achieved for best three H2 content subjects and H1 General Paper
Maximum UAS:
= 3 H2 + H1 GP
= 20 + 20 + 20 + 10
= 70 points
-
Computation of UAS with either H1 content-based/fourth H2 or H1 MTL
In such an event, the UAS will be rebased from /80 to /70.
Maximum UAS:
= [(3 H2 + H1 GP + H1 MTL/H1 content-based/fourth H2) / 80] x 70
= [(20 + 20 + 20 + 10 + 10) / 80] x 70
= 70 points
-
Computation of UAS with either H1 content-based/fourth H2 and H1 MTL
Maximum UAS:
= [(3 H2 + H1 GP + H1 MTL + H1 content-based/fourth H2) / 90] x 70
= [(20 + 20 + 20 + 10 + 10 + 10) / 90] x 70
= 70 points
