Anderson Serangoon Junior College (ASRJC) welcomes students with talent in various fields to apply for entry to the college through Direct School Admission (DSA).  For more information on DSA, please refer to MOE DSA-JC website.

Critical criteria:
(1) Strong knowledge in C++/Java/Python programming as demonstrated by competition/ certification

Other useful criteria:

  • Participation in long term science research programmes, of at least 4 weeks, with tertiary institutions/A*STAR Research Institutes etc. AND/OR
  • Participation in cluster/zonal/national/international science research based competitions. Priority will be given to applicants who have won top awards (e.g. Gold or Silver) in these competitions AND/OR
  • Carried out an extensive, independent inquiry-based project. There should be evidence of a prototype, or participation in competitions.
Academic

  • Tamil Language Elective Programme
Tamil Language and Literature related CCA and/or competitions, e.g.:

  • National Level Debate (Sorkalam)
  • MOE, CPDD organised competitions
  • External organisations competitions related to Tamil Language such as Tamil Writers’ Association, Valar Tamil Iyakkam, Tamil Language Festival, Inter-School competitions

2) Application Procedure

Step 1: Submit online application form through this link (https://tinyurl.com/asr19dsa) by Tuesday 30 July 2019. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application well in advance of the deadline to be considered for Phase 1.

Applicants should indicate clearly, the trial session that they are attending.

Step 2: Attend audition/trial
Step 3: Attend short interview if shortlisted.

Shortlisted applicants are required to bring the following for the interview:

  • Secondary School Report book
  • Relevant certifications and/or records of achievement related to the area of talent
  • Copies of Sec 4 Mid-Year and Sec 3 Year-end results

Applicants who are not offered a place in Phase 1 need not resubmit, as all applications will be considered for both Phase 1 and 2.

Only successful applicants will be informed via telephone.

Successful DSA-JC candidates will gain admission to ASRJC in 2020 for their JC education as long as they meet the eligibility set by MOE for the two-year Junior College Course based on their GCE ‘O’ Level examinations results.

Please note that successful DSA-JC candidates will NOT be allowed to participate in the Joint Admissions Exercise. They will also NOT be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the GCE ‘O’ Level examination results. They are expected to honour the commitment to the DSA-JC schools.

●     All 12 major scales (2 octaves), where applicable; varying articulations may be tested. For percussionists: scales on mallet percussion.

●     2 contrasting etudes, concertos or studies. Band excerpts are not encouraged. For percussionists: one on snare drum and the other on either mallet percussion or timpani.
