Introduction to Mother Tongue Fortnight

The Languages Department at our college heralded a celebration of cultural richness with the Mother Tongue Fortnight, held from 14 February to 23 February, under the inspiring theme "Experience• Immerse• Appreciate."

Morning Broadcasts and Assembly Sharing

Our mornings began with the melodic "Good morning ASR" broadcasts, featuring mother tongue songs, while the Tamil Language Elective Programme (TLEP) Immersion sharing during assemblies offered profound insights into the lived experiences of language.

Cultural Extravaganza

The extravaganza brought our community together through vibrant performances, enriching talks and street dances, where the rhythmic celebration of our mother tongues took center stage.

Interactive Cultural and Game Booths

Students reveled in the joy of traditional games and cultural practices, engaging with hands-on activities that brought our heritage to life.

Culinary Workshop:EmbracingTraditions

The Nasi Ambeng workshop was a sensory journey into the heart of our culinary heritage, underscoring the role of food in cultural expression and communal bonding.

Creative Arts and Personal Expression

Students' creativity blossomed as they adorned their skin with Henna, embracing the artful expressions of our cultural stories.

Lunch Time Concert

Singing, dance performances by teachers from various college departments, along with the Chinese Orchestra, TLEP & TLDDS, enlivened the fortnight, harmonizing the voices of our mother tongues in celebration.

Strategic Play and Cultural Wisdom

Strategic games such as Chinese chess engaged students in thoughtful play, reflecting the deep-seated wisdom of our ancestors.

The Allegro performance and language challenges such as tongue twisters and pantuns added an element of fun and creativity to the learning experience, delighting participants.
